We offer a wide range of fluorescent products, which allow you to create multiple (hidden) pictures in one. Perfect for home, arts & crafts, theatrical, corporate, promotions etc. Imagine having an artwork look one way and then you can change it by turning on a black light! Well now you can. What You Need: 1. Fluorescent Paint (Black Light/Ultra Violet Paint). Ensure you get the invisible and the invisible transparent (clear) paints. You can use the pigmented color paints underneath, but in order get a hidden picture you will need to use the invisible and/or invisible transparent paint over the existing picture. Note that you can use these paints over any picture fluorescent or non-fluorescent. You can also add phosphorescent (glow in the dark) paint but that is getting a little ahead of ourselves. 2. Applicators. I always suggest using what you are comfortable working with. If you use a spray gun then just think the paint enough to get it through the nozzle. Brushes, swaps, sponges, etc. can all be used. If you are using solvent based paints then keep in mind that some applicators will deteriorate when exposed to solvents. 3. Item to Paint. Canvass, wood, metal, vinyl, anything can be used as your substrate. Choose the right paint for the material and you should be fine. Application: You can paint over an existing painting or substrate. Use the invisible and/or invisible transparent fluorescent paint and paint your hidden picture. It is necessary to use a black light while painting so you can see the picture as it unfolds. Make sure you have enough black light to see your work, some hobby shop type of black lights may not be strong enough or give out too much visible light. You also want to try to apply it as thin as possible so the viewer will not be able to see the extra thickness. In stage props this will not be as important. The invisible paints are white under regular light and then fluoresce a rainbow of colors under black light activation. These are great when painting on a white or off white substrate such as your room. Bars and restaurants use this so that they can have a normal dinning area during the day, and with the switch of a black light, turn that same area into a hot night spot. The invisible transparents (clear) are used over any substrate, but please note that when putting any fluorescent or phosphorescent paint onto a black surface you will notice a considerable less amount of brilliance. As with both of these paints, painting on a white surface will increase the brilliance. Note that the solvent based invisible transparent fluorescent paints are clearer than the water based equivalent. This is due to the water based acrylic itself. The water based invisible transparent fluorescent paints are also more liquid, so please work with the paint before thinning. Both water and solvent based invisible transparent paint do not last long when exposed to direct sunlight. Clear Black Light Paints Clear and transparent Black Light Paints only show color under a Black Light. These are amazing coatings that simply fascinate the viewer. These paints are used in hidden messages, presentations, dual artwork images, dual props, exhibits, museums, and of course, painting your room without anyone knowing it. These paints are also used to cover existing fluorescent surfaces to shift the color. When mixing colors, please use the same base to do so – If Water Based use water, if Oil Based, use M.E.K.
