PPSB-351OZ ounce of Risk Reactor's Fire Red Glow in the Dark Phosphorescent Pigment.

This pigment can handle being in water based mediums longer. The PPSB-35X can not go into water much at all. Both glow about the same time. The PPSB-351OZ Fire Red glows with a greenish hue the PPSB-35X glows a truer red. Mix with CN2 to make your own paint! Our PPSB-351OZ Fire Red phosphorescent pigment was developed to go into oil based mediums. Risk Reactor's Glow in the Dark Pigment is the basic building block for material that glows in the dark. It works by absorbing ambient light and then re-emitting it in the visible spectrum. This process can be repeated an infinite amount of times. The color visible in regular light is an off white and it will glow a vibrant Fire Red in the dark. You can mix this pigment into any clear medium such as glue, paint, clay, gel candles, liquid nails, silicone, urethane, you name it. This pigment is best used right after mixing, most mediums seem to gel with this pigment over a period of time.

How to Use
This product is easy to work with. Simply mix it with a clear medium such as clear paint, clear glue, clear wax, etc. and you will have a glowing material! Follow the guidelines below to ensure you maximize the glowing effectiveness of our products.

More powder, higher percentage will produce brighter, longer glow.
Use a white, or light color as a background for best results. Any color other than white will diminish glow.
Use the clearest vehicle possible. Any pigment in the vehicle will decrease the brightness and length of glow.
The thicker (to a point) the layer of Glow Powder will produce longer and brighter luminosity.
Try to prevent moisture in the manufacturing process.
Do not use vehicle with high acidity.
Do not grind the Glow Powder, it will destroy the crystal structure and therefore decrease luminosity.
The larger the particle size of the Glow Powder the greater the glow.
Ratio of Glow Powder to medium is from 10% to 50% by weight depending on application and manufacture process. Best to start with 30% and move and down depending on cost, manufacturing process, and other factors that are unique to your application.
When ordering glow in the dark pigments to mix into paint, you may question how can I create my own paint with these fascinating pigments? How should I mix the pigments and in what material should I put them? The best way to go about the mixing process is to do a test run.  This way gets you familiar with the materials and is actually quite fun!  It also is a way to test how the paint will work in your surroundings and for your application.  Start off using just a little pigment to mix into your base, you can add more as you go.  Remember to find a good mixing tool; the pigment will have to be mixed thoroughly so it separates from itself.  Keep in mind: pigment will not dissolve, so give it a really good stir!
Risk Reactor offers two easy solutions for your glow paint base:
CN1 Water Based Clear and CN2 Oil Based Clear Overcoat.  Depending on if you need an oil or water base, these two products will work perfectly with Risk Reactor pigments.
You can also order Risk Reactor’s glow in the dark paint already mixed right off our website! Always remember that here at Risk Reactor we are here to help you succeed in your projects.  Please email us if you have any questions.
