How to Use
Working with PPSB-351LB is straightforward. Simply mix the pigment into a clear medium — such as clear paint, clear glue, clear epoxy resin, clear wax, or any transparent vehicle — and you'll have a glowing material ready to apply. Follow these guidelines to maximize glow performance:
- Use more powder for brighter, longer glow: A higher pigment-to-medium ratio produces stronger luminescence. Start at 30% by weight and adjust between 10%–50% based on your application, cost, and process.
- Always use a white or light-colored background: Any color other than white will significantly reduce glow brightness. A white base layer reflects and amplifies the glow.
- Choose the clearest vehicle possible: Any tint or pigment in your medium will decrease both brightness and glow duration. The clearer the base, the better the result.
- Apply thicker layers for stronger glow: A thicker coat of glow powder mixture produces longer and brighter afterglow — up to a point. Find the optimal thickness for your application.
- Keep moisture out: Avoid moisture during the manufacturing or mixing process, as it can degrade the crystal structure of the pigment.
- Avoid high-acidity vehicles: If you must use an acidic medium, keep your pot life short to minimize degradation.
- Never grind the powder: Grinding destroys the crystal structure of the phosphorescent material and permanently reduces luminosity. Use as-is.
Recommended Mix Ratio
Mix 10% to 50% glow powder by weight into your chosen clear medium. 30% is the recommended starting point for most applications. Adjust up or down based on your desired brightness, cost constraints, and manufacturing process.
